    At Simpson Coulter Studio, I was able to work on multiple public projects with varying responsibilities and different public entities/clients. Some of these public entities are Clark County, City of Henderson, National Guard, McCarren Airport, Clark County School District, Washington County Utah, College of Southern Nevada, and Las Vegas Library District.     Design Concept: The major concept that drove the design was the need for two points of entry between the existing Center and the new 7600 SF addition. Programmatically, this called for a continuous lobby linking the two entrances as well as the multipurpose space which was critical to the Center’s daily operations. The design team took advantage of the multipurpose room’s size to introduce daylighting via clerestory windows into the main lobby and circulation space provided by a central skylight that references the “beacon light of hope” mentioned by Martin Luther King, Jr. in his “I have a dream” speech.…
